The University of Canberra (UC) and Belco Arts have partnered to provide four Artist Residences in Digital Innovation and Cross-Sector Engagement.
The residences are supported by the ACT Government’s Creative Recovery and Resilience Program and aim to cultivate long-term relationships and professional development for artists in the ACT.
Four artists and a creative producer from a diverse range of practices including poetry, dance, photography, visual arts and physical theatre have been selected for the new artist in residence program:
- Digital Innovation Residencies: Zhi (Emerging) and Melanie Lane (Mid-Career/Established)
- Cross-Sector Engagement Residencies: Miriam Slater (Emerging) and Kirsten Wehner (Mid- Career/Established)
- Emerging Creative Producer: Zora Pang
Each artist will have access to staff and facilities at both UC and Belconnen Arts Centre and will receive financial support for the duration of their eight-week residencies between November 2021 and May 2022.
