Australian Dance Party is a Canberra based company with a particular interest in site-specific works. ADP aims to bring together dance and other arts, people and place.
The Culture Cruise program marries arts and tourism in a day of touring which starts on an electric boat from National Museum of Australia.
Attendees enjoy entertaining and informative commentary, a number of site-specific dance and music performances, visits to the National Portrait Gallery and National Museum of Australia, lunch and wine.
The day moves at a relaxed pace with time for individuals to linger at points of interest or to note where they might wish to return for a longer visit. It is equally as enjoyable for visitors to Canberra and locals, who may experience the places in a new way.
Jim the boat captain was a highlight for us as master raconteur, bouncing nicely off our ADP boat tour guide. The dancing was of an excellent standard, the music moving, the company very pleasant and the sites well chosen. Guests’ individual needs were well catered for and everyone was made very welcome.
Living Arts Canberra attended Culture Cruise on a day of perfect summer weather, one as an invited guest and the other as a paying customer.
