The 28th edition, of this film festival offers 260 films chosen from over 800 submissions from 48 countries in a celebration of film diversity.

Among the highlights is Portraits of Us, a screening dedicated to women’s perspectives with films exclusively directed by female filmmakers.

There are two children and family friendly screenings focussed on inclusivity. In collaboration with Bus Stop Films, the festival will host an all abilities screening, embracing the talents and creativity of differently-abled filmmakers and actors.

The festival  presents two nights of contemporary Iranian short films, Iran and an evening dedicated to First Nations stories, both presentations  honouring rich cultural heritage and storytelling traditions.

For those who love experimental films, there is an open-air screening at PhotoAccess.

Of course, the festival will also offer all the classic categories and events, including a showcase of the best local talents, a grand gala opening night, and the always highly anticipated awards ceremony.
