The Stabat Mater is one of Pergolesi’s last works and also one of his most sacred. The music is written to a 13th-century Christian text as a hymn to Mary, portraying her suffering as Christ’s mother during his crucifixion.

The music will be led by guest concertmaster and early music specialist John Ma.
