The Canberra Sinfonia’s first concerto gala celebrates youthful soloists in our National Capital. This inaugural performance will feature soloists Lucy Macourt (violin), Alison Mountain (flute) and Rowan Phemister (harp).
The repertoire includes two of Mozart’s dazzling yet lesser-played concerti: the Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major, K. 218 and the Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra in C major, K. 299.
Violinist Lucy Macourt is the Canberra Symphony Orchestra’s 2020-21 Kingsland Resident and holds a BMus from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she received the Matteson and Nancy Scholarship, the Kathleen and Allison Short Scholarship and a Sydney Scholars Award.
Flautist Alison Mountain is a Musician Army Reservist with the Band of the Royal Military College. She completed her Licentiate of Music from the Trinity College of London (LTCL) with Distinction in 2014 and was one of the founding members of the Canberra Sinfonia.
Harpist Rowan Phemister performs with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Seven Harp Ensemble and leading contemporary groups including Halcyon, Omega Ensemble and Ensemble Offspring. He holds a BMus (Hons) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
