With an icy chill already enveloping us in the Canberra region, many people will be looking for warm, homespun wools and this exhibition certainly demonstrates just how attractive expertly and lovingly crafted garments and accessories can be.
Notable in this exhibition is the profusion of natural colours reflecting the many hues of grasses, eucalypt leaves and trees in our landscape.
Some members took to foraging in their own gardens, nearby laneways and waterways during COVID-19 shutdowns and it is remarkable how much treasure they found from which to create baskets and decorative items.
Canberra Spinners and Weavers boasts a membership of around 130 and the organisation welcomes new members, regardless of their skill level and experience. They offer workshops, course and classes as well as drop-in sessions for feedback and sharing.
