The GOLDs are a Canberra Dance Theatre dance class and performance group for movers and non-movers who are over 55. The focus is on fitness, mobility, sociability and creativity.
To celebrate their 10th anniverary, the GOLD dancers will be performing at a number of venues in Canberra to promote the benefits of dance for seniors. GOLD actively challenges stereotypes of older people and espouses the philosophy that dance is not just for the young!
Canberra Dance Theatre is a community dance organisation offering a variety of dance classes.
It has worked with significant professional dancers choreographers, musicians and designers including Dr Stephanie Burridge, Dr Elizabeth Cameron Dalman OAM, Kai Tai Chan, Julia Cotton, Patrick Harding-Irmer, Anca Frankenhauser, Beth Shelton, Anna Smith, Dr Cheryl Stock OAM, Andris Toppe, Wendy Wallace, Bernadette Walong, Graeme Watson, Tammi Gissell, Sue Healey and Amalia Horden.
