UNICEF goodwill ambassador and Latin Grammy award-winner Gaby Moreno did it the hard way when, at the age of 18, she moved from her native Guatemala to Los Angeles.

Recording contracts with a couple of large recording companies fell through – so she decided to go it alone and become a producer herself.

Although she had performed at the age of 10 in Guatemala with Ricky Martin, Gaby’s first big break in the US was touring with Tracey Chapman. She’s gone on to collaborate with performers such as Jackson Brown, Van Dyke Parkes, actor and musician Hugh Lawrie and Omara Portuondo from the Buena Vista Social Club.

She performs in English and Spanish and her music includes acoustic folk, soul, rock, and blues. She is releasing a new album in April, with the lead single Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow already available on digital platforms.
