Jugiong Hall, Jugiong NSW
Short story and poetry competitions for adults and children, entries close 7 May 2021
Changes wrought by COVID have meant that this year’s festival will have a new look. Instead of writer presentations, there will be four workshops with limited attendance allowed.
The workshops are free thanks to special NSW Government funding, with just a $15 for each participant to allow professional cleaning of the hall before and after each session.
Enrolment is via https://jugiongwritersfestival.com/workshops/ with payment by direct debit.
The following workshops are on offer:
- Saturday 9am to 12pm Jenny Glazebrook -Plotting and Planning
- Saturday 1pm to 4pm Sulari Gentill – Crime and Historical Fiction
- Sunday 9am to 12pm Marty Boyle – Writing Comedy and Drama
- Sunday 1pm to 4pm Lena Elphick – How to conduct research, especially using the Internet
A program focused on creative writing is also underway in regional primary and high schools and there are short story and poetry competitions for adults and children under the theme of Bringing in the Light. Closing date is 7 May 2021 for both categories.
