Living Arts Canberra was pleased to attend the launch of the 2019 festival at the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre on 20 February.

The festival was officially launched by ACT Minister for Arts and Cultural Events, Gordon Ramsay, with a welcome by Artistic Director Pam Merrigan, who is producing her 7th festival.

NFF Board Chair Jacqueline Bradley announced that the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2019 was singer-songwriter and former Canberra resident, Eric Bogle AM.

Featured festival artist Elska, from Queensland, flew in from the Adelaide Fringe Festival to perform at the opening with a borrowed harp.
