This exhibition by Queensland-based artist Sam Suttie features 17 new oil paintings, which capture the beauty of the natural world through relaxed realism that leans towards the surreal.
In her works, botanical elements and animals work together to tell a story.
The artist introduces her beloved bird messengers into a world of dark matter, the infinite possibilities of the quantum realm, and mysterious lights in the sky.
Sam Suttie has more than 10 group and solo shows to her name. In 2022 she was highly commended in the Doyles Art Prize, and was a finalist in the Lethbridge Small Scale Prize. In 2021 she was a finalist in the Lethbridge Landscape Prize and the ‘Into the Light’ at Berrima.
