Stronger than Fiction (STF) is back after a COVID hiatus. However, rather than screening over a short sharp period, films will be presented monthly., still provide the opportunity for regular get-togethers with like-minded film goers, for Q&As with directors and experts, and for performances by local musicians.

Hannah de Feyter talks about Strong Than Fiction

Throughout the year, STF will be including special offers to make their screenings more accessible, like free childcare and audio description, made possible thanks to a grant from the ACT Government.

The festival kicks off with Chilean film, The Mole Agent. Geriatric gumshoe Sergio is hired by a private detective agency to check on the well-being of a client’s relative – his mission to infiltrate a nursing home.

The Mole Agent has been nominated for Best Documentary at this year’s Oscars. The film is timely with recent attention to aged care during COVID and following on the findings of the Royal Commission into Aged Care.
