This exhibition is based on Val’s discovery of some of the beautiful natural places we have in the Canberra region – rivers, lakes, suburbia and parks. She has spent the past two years during Covid composing the paintings and mosaics for this exhibition.

X Gallery – The Sky Above and the Earth Below

Both of these bodies of work have a relationship with Covid-19 and lockdown life.

Michael Warner stumbled across clay for the works in this exhibition when digging a storm water trench during lockdown. He decided to dig it up and use it with only the slightest modification to its roughness.
