Erindale Theatre
7pm, Friday 22 and Saturday 23 July 2022

Unravel is a contemporary dance interpretation of the Shakespearean Romeo and Juliet story. It promises to be emotionally engaging, relevant in its themes to the current day and of a high standard both choreographically and in dance technique.

The production draws directly on the original Shakespearean prose as well as offering audience some entertaining quirkiness.

Themes of family dissolution, community conflict and the power of love to overcome obstacles will resonate with contemporary audiences, with points of connection in their own experiences and with world events. Strong performances by the 17 strong cast are anticipated.

Contemporary dance studio The Training Ground has positioned itself to provide a transition space for contemporary dance students and potential professionals, preparing them for tertiary courses and entry into professional dance companies. They currently receive no government or large corporate funding.
